The group is open to all printmakers in the York area, at any level, whether you are an experienced practitioner, student, hobbyist or occasional dabbler.
Membership is £20 per year. This fee covers running of the website, marketing & promotional material and some exhibition costs. Members are expected to regularly attend meetings, help organise, set up and hang exhibitions, and share information about relevant events and opportunities.
Membership entitles you to:
- Be invited to exhibit your work within group exhibitions
- Participate in residencies set up for the group
- Join workshops, talks and demonstrations by external visitors
- Be placed on our members mailing list & private Facebook Group
- Have your work displayed on our website & online platforms
If you would like to become a member, you can sign up at one of our meetings or alternatively please use the contact page for instructions on paying your £20 fee into our group bank account.
We meet monthly at True Stories Cafe (formerly Me & Mrs Fisher), Lord Mayor’s Walk, during the last week of each month. Anyone is welcome to attend, even if you are not yet a member. See our Meeting Schedules below for 2018 meetings. Meetings are informal and sociable; people are encouraged to bring some print related material (e.g own prints, plates, issues/queries) to share with others.
We would advise attending at lease one meeting before deciding whether to join as a member of York Printmakers. Conversely, some may wish to not become member, but join in on some meetings throughout the year for help/support.
February: Tuesday 26th – True Story Cafe, Lord Mayor’s walk 7:30 pm
March: Wednesday 27th The Knavesmire pub, Albemarle rd 7:30 (trial venue)
