Janice has a longstanding interest in art and crafts, discovering the joys of printmaking 9 years ago, when she began 3 years of NOCN printmaking classes at York College.
She has since taken many short courses at print studios including West Yorkshire Print Workshop and the Ropewalk in Barton on Humber. Whilst enjoying learning new techniques, Janice tends to favour lino printing and etching processes; including safe etch, drypoint and sugar-lift.
The artist takes inspiration from the local Yorkshire landscape, flowers and plants. Often Janice works from her own photographs, although occasionally she produces more abstract images. Many of her prints also have a vintage feel, using colour to create a faded effect.
